Susan Kijowski is Real World Canine's founder and Master Trainer having over 21+ years of experience working with dogs and their people. Susan specializes in moderate to severe canine behavior modification & rehabilitation as well as canine psychology.
During her 21+ years in the field, Susan has spent time volunteering at rescues and shelters all over the country, has donated her time and services to organizations like the Rosa Project; which rescues and re-homes abandoned and abused Galgos and Podencos dogs from Spain, and works with owners who have limited resources and access to training that focuses on dealing with more extreme behaviors.
In 2015 Susan established K9 Games Reno, a facility dedicated to rehabilitating dogs with moderate-severe behavioral needs. In 2018 Susan founded her second company, Real World Canine, an organization committed to providing a safe environment that offers behavior modification, day camp, and other training services to dogs of every breed, size, age, and temperament.
In addition to her in-field experience, Susan is also certified in canine nutrition and counseling as well as canine CPR & First Aid. Susan has worked with both humans and dogs in group settings, 1-1 settings, and with established figures like Cesar Milan and spent several years mentoring under a world champion Schutzund competitor. In addition to her specializing in canine behavior modification & rehabilitation and canine psychology, she is also certified in basic, advanced, and on/off-leash obedience, puppy foundations, and helping owners understand how to communicate with their dogs better and more effectively.
