The RWC Team

The RWC Team is currently 18-strong, a significant increase from the days when we started with six. First and foremost, we are a team of dog lovers, who want the best for all dogs. Second, we are people who are dedicated to doing the hard work necessary to care for the dogs who come to RWC. Third, we hold ourselves to rigorous standards of excellence and integrity.

It is not easy to be a member of the RWC Team because of our high standards, but for those who make the cut, RWC pays a competitive wage, and offers multiple benefits, including health, vision and dental insurance, a company-matched 401(k) plan, paid time off, and profit-sharing bonuses.

Meet the key members of the RWC Team.

Jodie, Chief Dog Lover (Owner & CEO)

Jodie started as an angel investor in Real World Canine, but after the company not performing and losing a lot of money under previous management, she decided to take over management in April 2022.

Since then, RWC has purchased its own building, introduced multiple new programs for dogs, instituted health, dental and vision insurance for staff, a matched 401(k) plan, as well as paid time off. RWC is now THE premier provider of canine services as well as the employer of the most well-trained, and the BEST compensated canine care workforce in the industry in our area.

Jodie is doing the training required to be a dog trainer so she can understand dogs even better, and will be working on the PACCC (Owner/Operator) certification in 2026.

Kaylee, Director of Operations

Kaylee started as a dog handler at RWC almost 4 years ago, and has worked her way steadily up to her current position as Jodie's second-in-command, Director of Operations.

As Director of Operations, Kaylee oversees all daily operations, including staff traing and performance, canine programs, canine welfare, training, boarding and staff accountability. She led RWC through an eventful summer in 2025, and has overseen tremendous growth and expansion of services.

She is working on a training certification to be determined, and eventually, also a PACCC (Manager) certification. She currently also works to train dogs in RWC's training program.

Grace, Deputy Dir of Operations

Grace just celebrated her one-year anniversary with RWC. She has a special interest in canine enrichment and is a favorite of our pack because of all the fun activities she has led them through. She is now our Deputy Director of Operations, helping Kaylee keep our pack happy, well stimulated and well exercised. As Kaylee's deputy, she is responsible for helping to mentor and hold our staff members to account.

Izzy, Operations Manager

Izzy joined the RWC Team in December last year, and has worked her way up steadily to become the Operations Manager. Izzy is very committed to the well-being of every dog in our care, and is also a good mentor to our handlers. She has an interest in training, and is working under Kaylee's mentorship.

Haley, Deputy Operations Manager

Haley is coming upon her one-year anniversary with RWC. From the beginning, Haley has had a flair for working with our Solo and Custom day campers, designing all kinds of engaging and fun puzzles and games for them. She is now our Deputy Operations Manager, helping to run safe play groups and giving every dog individual attention.

Ty was a US Army Ranger Medic, and was deployed four times to the Middle East. He served 18 years, was injured in combat, and is the recipient of the Silver Star Medal, two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts, among other awards. He then continued to serve in the Veterans Administration, from where he is now retired, and has been working in facilities maintenance since. In addition to all his accomplishments, one thing that makes Ty a uniquely valuable addition to the RWC Team is the fact that he fought to bring his trained cadaver dog, Lana Marie, back from Afghanistan. He rescued Lana Marie as a puppy while stationed in Afghanistan, and trained her to be a cadaver dog. He says he owes his life to Lana Marie, who literally saved him by sitting on his chest when he was caught in enemy fire and knocked unconscious after a hit. We are honored to have a veteran on our team!
